Co-vid restrictions UPDATE

Sunday 01 Aug
Great news!  We have secured an adjudicator to adjudicate Instrumental, Piano and Vocal.  The program will proceed as printed.  Speech & Drama will proceed as normal also.
Our President has requested a big shout out to Mr Stuart Gillard for his great assistance and invaluable support.  Thanks Stuart!

Saturday 31 Jul
Our Saturday afternoon and evening dance sessions, as well as all Sunday sessions have been postponed due to the current lockdown coming into effect at 4pm today (Saturday).

We are trying to reschedule these sessions for next Saturday and Sunday.

The remainder of the Eisteddfod (Instrumental, Vocal, Piano, Speech & Drama) is planned to proceed as scheduled.

Please note that the situation is changing rapidly and we are endeavouring to minimise the impact on competitors.  Thanks for your understanding and support as we try to ensure we can provide an event for our competitors.

Volunteer Now

The Gympie & District Eisteddfod Association extends a warm welcome to our website.

The City of Gympie proudly boasts that its heritage is written in the history books as the “city that saved Queensland”. This was possible with the discovery of gold in 1867. The Eisteddfod Association is proud likewise as Gympie held the first Eisteddfod in the State of Queensland.

The Eisteddfod is an annual event with the week providing a platform of performance for the youth of the community involved in cultural pursuits.

The Association’s Aim is: “to foster and nurture the love of the arts in the youth of the community”.

The art forms available to competitors are Piano, Instrumental, Speech and Drama, Vocal/Choral and Dance.

The Gympie Eisteddfod is a junior Eisteddfod offering items in each of the art forms.
